Dr G Sitalakshmi, The Gift of God, Sent to serve the society was summoned back suddenly, probably to perform the nethra seva to the Divinity.Every image through the vision gifted by Dr. G. Sitalakshmi will remind her services. She has converted Dreams to Reality for the visually Challenged.
Each and every soul in SN, took turns in expressing their deep felt grief on the sudden demise of a great person, Dr G Sitalakshmi.
Dr G. Sitalakshmi has played various roles in this organization. Dr G Sitalaksmi was remembered as a great teacher, as a dear friend, as an excellent researcher, a well-wisher & last but not the least, a noble doctor.
Dr S.S.Badrinath, Chairman Emeritus mentioned that she lived for cornea, & excelled in Cornea. She has been a perfect and a passionate teacher.
A short video showing the journey of Dr G.Sitalakshmi in Sankara Nethralaya was presented by Dr Prema Padmanaban. She said that Dr G.Sitalakshmi has strengthened the department, shaped many lives & led the department to excellence & glory. She has been a surgeon par excellence. She has been a rainbow of Sankara Nethralaya.
It was announced that August 28th of every year will be observed as “Dr G Sitalaksmi Memorial day”.
The family of Dr G.Sitalakshmi thanked Sankara Nethralaya for its support & help.
The deep felt letters from the benefited patients were read out.
All the hearts felt that she has been a representative of GOD to serve the people.
The evening came to an end by paying homage to the Mother of Vision.
I'm deeply shocked over the sudden demise of Dr GS. My association with Dr.GS, while I worked for SN during 91-97, proved to be a memorable one. Yet to meet a person who's as charming and vibrant like Dr.GS, who with her smile and kind words lit lots of life. Dr.GS lived and breathed Cornea - a dedicated surgeon noted for her agility.
I pray to God to give support to Dr. GS's family and SN family at this time of deep grief.
