Each and every cell of Sankara Nethralaya deeply mourns the sudden demise of the dedicated soul Dr.G.Sitalakshmi, who has attained divinity. Sankara Nethralaya loses its prized possession. Dr G. Sitalakshmi - A Visionary par Excellence will live for ever in the vision of thousands of people & patients. The tears from the benefited eyes will shower flowers on the last journey of Dr.G.Sitalakshmi.

Dear friends,

On behalf of the organizing committee, I want to thank you for giving us the opportunity to host a fund raiser for Sankara Nethralaya. The video presentation by Dr Ananth Badrinath was well received and increased awareness of SN foundation activities among our community.

The music program by Prof. Krishnan was flawless; He connected so well with the audience, as he did with his supporting artists, that every one felt a personal touch in the concert. Sriram's mastery on the violin was obvious; No doubt about it. All the mothers with teenage kids adored Nirmal and wished that their kids would turn out to be like him.

Overall, it was a wonderful experience for all of us.

Once again, thank you for giving us this opportunity to work for a premier institution such as Sankara Nethralaya.

Sankara Nethralaya’s branch in Kolkata

Dr. S. Badrinath, President & Chairman-emeritus Medical Research Foundation announced the Launch of Sankara Nethralaya’s new branch in Kolkata. It is a 20 crore project aimed at giving full fledged eye care. This hospital would become operational from April-May 2008 & would offer free treatment to 25% of needy patients.

We are very glad to thank Mr. M. Sambasivam, employee of Sankara Nethralaya, who has willingly donated his salary(for the month of August) to the organization.

                        

As our Former President rightly said about Sankara Nethralaya as the "Temple of eye", this organization gives us the oppurtunity & responsibility to serve the under previliged sections of the society.

Independence Day Celebrations at Sankara Nethralaya

We, the family of Sankara Nethralaya take great pride & pleasure in saluting our Mother India, on her 60^th year of independence.

Glimpse of yesterday’s happenings….

The family of Sankara Nethralaya doubles its happiness by celebrating the 60^th year of independence and centenary celebrations of Late Sri. Ki. Va. Jagannathan. The celebrations happened at Jagadguru Kanchi Sri Chandrasekarendra Saraswathi Nethra  Nilayam (JKCN campus), 21, Pycrofts Garden Road, Chennai.

The celebrations started at 8.30 A.M , First of which was the  National Flag hoisting  by the chief guest Kavignar  A. Arivoli. Sankara Nethralaya was proud to have the family of Ki.Va. Jagannathan on stage along with the respected chairman, Dr. Lingam Gopal & Kavignar A. Arivoli. Dr, Nivedita Narayanan, Associate consultant took the privilege of welcoming the esteemed members on stage. This was followed by the distribution of mementos & inspiring speeches given by the Tamil Genius A. Arivoli & the family members of Ki.Va.Jagannathan. After which, Awards were given for The Man & Woman of the Year (2), 20 Years of service (7) & 10 years of service (20) & Maximum eye donation pledge award .

The grand function came to an end by the Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr Bhaskara Srinivasan, Associate Consultant followed by scrumptious breakfast.

   

         

                                 

Sankara Nethralaya - Medical Laboratries Received NABL Certification (ISO 15189:2003)

NABL (National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories- Dept of science & technology), India has  given a “Certificate  of Accreditation” (ISO 15189: 2003) for "Sri Nathella Sampathu Chetty Clinical Laboratory", A unit of Medical Research Foundation, in the field of Medical laboratory testing in Clinical Biochemistry, Clinical Pathology, Hematology& Immunohematology, Microbiology & Serology, Histopathology and Cytopathology and Genetics 

ISO: 15189:2003 is “Medical Laboratories – Particular requirements for quality and competence”.

Date of Issue: 24.07.2007
Valid up to: 23.07.2009

The scope of the accreditation of each field gives the list of tests and its details,  for which the accreditation was given.

          

Concert by Prof T N Krishnan at San Diego

Prof. T N Krishnan's Benefit Concert for Sankara Nethralaya was held at San Diego . It left all audiences awestruck

It was a  grand success. There were about 200 people who attended and thoroughly enjoyed the concert. It is the greatest pleasure to hear Prof TN Krishnan and Sriram Krishnan play together.
