Meeting for a cause

A meeting of the city’s elite chartered accountants was arranged by Sankara Nethralaya on November 17, 2006.  The get-together was organized to introduce Sankara Nethralaya’s path breaking project National Institute for Research in Visual Sciences and Ophthalmology (NIRVO) and seek the support of the Chartered Accountants.  Mr. R. Seshasayee, Managing Director, Ashok Leyland and President, CII was the special invitee.

Following presentations about Sankara Nethralaya, by Dr. Tarun Sharma and about NIRVO and the need for research in India by Dr S S Badrinath,  Mr. Seshasayee gave his address.  He applauded the idea of India-Centric Research and said that, that was what is most required in the country right now.  He urged the Chartered accountants to motivate their friends & clients to support Sankara Nethralaya and NIRVO.
