SN On The Road

Sankara Nethralaya's consultant in Nigeria, Dr. S. Rajesh reported on October 1, 2004 that out of over 457 out-patients who were examined in 9 days at the Kebbi Eye Care Program, 108 patients underwent cataract surgery.

All surgeries were successful. Majority of these patients are with bilateral mature cataracts and POAG. Significant number of patients are one eyed as the other eye has undergone couching, which is very prevalent in this part of the world.
