Did you know that nearly 275,000 surgeries have been performed by our consultants, several of whom are nationally reputed in their field of specialization? Six of our senior consultants have done more than 10,000 surgeries each and six other consultants have done more than 5,000 surgeries each. In order to congratulate them and to show our appreciation and gratitude for their selfless service in Sankara Nethralaya, a function has been organized on July 29, 2004 (Thursday) when each of these consultants will be honoured with an award. Shri Cho S. Ramaswamy, the well-known thespian and journalism will be the Chief Guest at the function.

The consultants who have performed over 10,000 surgeries are: Dr. L. Gopal, Dr. L. Vijaya, Dr. G. Sitalakshmi, Dr. Tarun Sharma, Dr. Prema Padmanabhan and Dr. K. Ravishankar.
